Algeria

Water management, transformation of territories and of livestock systems, and restoration of degraded agro-ecosystems are the main fields in which CIRAD works in Algeria. The country's rangelands and farmland, which have seen profound changes and are under severe constraints (environment, climate, population pressure, etc), are also of interest to CIRAD in the light of the new type of rurality that is emerging and as regards its capacity to adapt.
