The year 2022 was marked by a range of crises, primarily the war in Ukraine, which triggered concerns about global food security. In this troubled context, CIRAD has continued its operations and pursued its remit to foster more sustainable farming systems.

The core of the report is a focus on “Crises and food security”, which highlights our work on the topic and includes an interview with one of our partners on the ground, from Tunisia.

The 2022 report is available in English and French, and presents a selection of CIRAD's work, under six headings:

  • highlights
  • portfolio
  • focus
  • scientific research
  • partnerships, training and communication
  • ethics, CSR, key figures and organization.

As regards scientific research, the report highlights our main operations, centring on our six priority research topics:

  • agroecological transitions
  • biodiversity
  • climate change
  • food systems
  • One Health, and
  • territory-based approaches.
