4e Rencontres francophones sur les légumineuses

The Rencontres Francophones Légumineuses (French-language Meetings on Legumes) will be held from 22 to 24 January 2024 in Dakar-Saly, Senegal. Organized by CIRAD, INRAE, Terres Inovia and Terres Univia, with support from the Institut Sénégalais de Recherches Agricoles (ISRA) and IRD.

These meetings are a unique forum for the entire range of stakeholders from the development sector, value chains and the pulse and fodder legume research sector. They will be a unique opportunity to compare views, share knowledge and boost innovation in terms of legumes. 
This latest edition will look at four main topics:

Protein sovereignty

The role of legumes in protein sovereignty in Africa: What issues? What differences? What complementarities?

Food transition

Achieving food transition using legumes: What is the current dynamic? How can it be encouraged and how can we promote sustainable, high nutritional quality food systems?

Production systems

Legume diversity within production systems: What genetic resources? What suitable cropping systems? What ecosystem services are generated?

Collective organizations

Value chain collective organizations relating to legumes: What type of organization? What are the obstacles to be overcome? What opportunities?
