2024 Paris International Agricultural Show

Catch up with CIRAD and the Agence française de développement (AFD) at the 60th Paris International Agricultural Show.

CIRAD and the Agence française de développement will be at the 2024 Paris International Agricultural Show, from 24 February to 3 March. The two organizations, which both work for the development of tropical and Mediterranean countries, have chosen "Soils and land: life in our hands" as the topic for this year's stand.

An educational but fun stand for everyone

Come and find out what its hidden beneath the soil surface! At the 60th Paris International Agricultural Show, CIRAD and AFD invite you to dig into the riches offered by soils by observing a vivarium and discover the key role soils play, through a series of events and a quiz, alongside researchers from CIRAD.

A space to receive and talk with professionals

In terms of professional meetings, CIRAD and AFD will receive partners and institutional and political representatives from all horizons on the stand, to talk about soils, a key topic as regards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Conference: "How can we manage soil fertility to boost food sovereignty in Africa?"

By means of two round tables, this conference will highlight the global issues surrounding soil fertility and also look at how mineral fertilizers could be used in addition to agroecological practices to boost agricultural production in Africa.

A series of side events

During the Paris  International Agricultural Show, you will also be able to follow a series of side events, either on site or on line. They will look at a range of topics such as land tenure inequality, soil fertility management, restoration of degraded soils and soil occupation management in the Senegal River valley.
