Emerging infectious diseases in Europe

International conference organized by CIRAD and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS - Italy) marking the end of the H2020 MOOD project.

To mark the end of the H2020 MOOD project ("MOnitoring Outbreak events for Disease surveillance in a data science context"), CIRAD and the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS - Italy) are co-organizing an international conference on emerging infectious diseases in Europe.

The conference will:

  • present current research and results in the field;
  • identify critical questions and future research challenges;
  • provide new tools, data and models for epidemic intelligence produced by the EU-funded MOOD project, and
  • highlight the interdisciplinary approaches needed to address them under the "One Health" initiative.

The scientific programme will be spread over two conference days

  • 26 November 2024 will be organized around four major scientific sessions, with plenary and keynote lectures given by invited speakers and experts;
  • 27 November 2024 will be devoted to the presentation of the significant scientific results of the MOOD project, including the MOOD platform and the tools made available through it.

A final round table will bring together representatives of the MOOD project, related EU-funded projects and international organizations to discuss emerging issues and problems that need to be addressed in the future.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 874850
