The 4 per 1000 Virtual Fair - Soils for food security and the climate
The capacity for carbon storage in agricultural and forest soils can play a crucial role in food security, the agroecological transition and adaptation to climate change, and thus contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals while implementing the Paris Climate Agreement.
In the context of the 4 per 1000 Virtual Fair, from 3 May to 11 June 2021, CIRAD and its partners are presenting three emblematic projects that focus on improving soil preservation and restoration practices, with three stands and, for each one, a corresponding conference.
The ASSET project
Objective: contributing to soil preservation through agroecological transitions in Southeast Asia.
Implemented by 27 partners in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam, the five-year ASSET project will explore the transition to systems that are more sustainable from a social, environmental and health point of view.
Stand and conference
A conference will be held on 11 May at 09:00 Paris time / 14:00 in Phnom Penh.
