Each year, CIRAD recruits around a hundred people on permanent or short-term contracts, on work-study contracts, or on voluntary service contracts on the ground, in relation to our research projects in a hundred or so countries.
For CIRAD, science is useful: it addresses the challenges involved in building a better world. It is also supportive, since our partners do not always have the means to conduct their operations. Whatever your background, profession or talents, there is a place for you on this collective journey.

Since its inception, CIRAD has been committed to training in research and through research. Each year, our research units and support services welcome almost 1000 interns, PhD students and researchers from France and elsewhere.
Our remit means that training through research, internships, PhD theses and post-docs is particularly important to us. We welcome some 400 PhD students each year.
CIRAD is heavily involved in training junior scientists and French and overseas students. It contributes to PhD courses and Masters teaching. It helps its partners build their skills, by welcoming researchers and providing them with on-the-job training within its facilities and technical training on the ground.
We support the principle of open access to knowledge, and disseminate the scientific knowledge generated by our research teams as freely as possible.
Open science is a global movement for dissemination of and free access to scientific knowledge, to which CIRAD is committed. This drive aims to foster sharing and comparison of scientific research results, and the development of closer interactions between science and society.
