Archives Office

Since 1999, CIRAD has had its own archives service. The Archives Office is tasked with implementing the establishment's general archive management, conservation and access policy, validated by CIRAD General Management and by the Direction générale des Patrimoines (French national archives), since CIRAD générâtes public archives. It works with the contributing services at CIRAD, with the help of a network of archive correspondents.

Responsibilities

Applying and enforcing the prevailing legislation as regards archives (Code du patrimoine ).
Helping CIRAD services master current and intermediate archive management.
Training CIRAD staff members.
Limiting the volumes stored through rational management of regular disposal operations and processing of older archives.
Preserving historical records of CIRAD's activities and helping to promote its heritage.
Offering access to the archive resources held by CIRAD and the French national archives.
