With 28 900 documents indexed by the academic search engine Google Scholar, the CIRAD publications open archive, Agritrop, is second in the French institutional repositories rankings, for the third year running, behind the HAL-Sciences de l'homme et de la Société (HAL-SHS) archive.

The results of the eighth global transparent ranking of institutional repositories by Google Scholar (GS) were published in February 2020. CIRAD has now been ranked second three years running, reflecting the excellent visibility of its institutional repository and its international interoperability, thanks to its use of standard metadata formats and communication protocols that foster the indexing of publications by search engines.

In the overall global rankings, all categories combined, Agritrop is 111th out of 2789 repositories, and 100th out of the 2705 institutional repositories in the "institutionals" category.
