CIRAD, an expert in tropical fruit and vegetables, at the 2019 Fruit Logistica trade fair

For the 10th year in a row, CIRAD is taking part in the Fruit Logistica trade fair in Berlin, from 6 to 8 February 2019. It will present its expertise and innovations in connection with fruit and vegetable sectors in the countries of the South and the markets of the North. Its subsidiary Vitropic, which specialises in vitro banana plantlets, will also be present. Every year Fruit Logistica, a global meeting for the fruit and vegetable trade, brings together around 3 000 exhibitors from 80 countries and more than 78 000 visitors from 130 countries. CIRAD is taking part in the 2019 edition of Fruit Logistica, the international trade fair for fruit in Berlin, which will be held this year from 6 to 8 February. A global meeting for the fruit and vegetable trade, Fruit Logistica is also a platform for exchanges with professionals from the international fruit and vegetable market.

CIRAD is on the lookout for new partnerships and wants to strengthen its networks and contacts,especially with the private sector and NGOs, for these sectors that generate value added for the countries of the South

Banana and pineapple in vitro plantlets produced and distributed by Vitropic SA , a CIRAD subsidiary that also provides assessment services for the design, supply and management of industrial nurseries.

  • The fruitrop.com website: economic and technical information in English and French, in one click
  • The journal FruiTrop, the monthly journal containing news about fresh and processed tropical fruit, fresh citrus, and counter-season fruit trading. Aimed at a readership of economic and political decision makers in these sectors, it is published in French and English. FruiTrop is distributed in more than 50 countries.
  • FruiTrop weekly, a decision support tool on the banana, avocado and mango markets.

FruiTrop has been at the Fruit Logistica fair for more than 10 years, to publicize the products of work by the Market News Service, an economic study unit at CIRAD. Its experts work closely with professionals from the fresh and processed fruit and vegetable sector worldwide.
