Locust ecology and control
One mission: to contribute to the improvement of the methods of monitoring and control of the devastating populations of grasshoppers by studies in natural environment and dialogue with the actors of the control.

Locusts – or grasshoppers – represent an important threat for agriculture in many areas of the world. The invasions of the Desert locust may concern more than 29 million square km. None culture is saved. The cost of such invasions rises to hundreds of million euros. Property, human and environmental damages can be considerable. Because of their great mobility, the plagues can take regional or continental dimensions quickly.

Thus the fight against these insects represents an important stake.
