From 2001 to 2004, Guy Trébuil and François Bousquet, Cirad researchers (Renewable and Natural Resource Management Unit), detached to the Social Division of International Rice Research Institute, built a network of researchers on Companion Modelling for natural resources integrated management.

Several trainings have been given and this book gathered contributions of researchers who participated to this process and who developed their own application.

After an introduction from the editors, the contributions are grouped in four parts:

A first part describes applications which propose conceptual models of different case studies.

A second part is composed by applications which used the Role Playing Game method to promote the learning and changing processes among participants.

The third part presents applications for which the computer model was developed enough to produce simulations.

Finally, the fourth part presents contributions on the learning process theme.
