Pedagogic support and expertise

We bring a pedagogic support upon request of development projects, schools, training centres, faculties, or to vocational training centres of southern countries. This support can deal with the analysis of training needs, with the identification of pedagogic objectives, with elaborating teaching programmes and contents, and with designing of didactic materials or pedagogic techniques.

In partnership with other teams, we contributed to the following tools :

Toolbox “Training of official control staff in food hygiene” (in French)

This CD-based aid results from the study “Tool Box Food Safety” funded by The World Bank and realised in partnership with the National School of Veterinary Services (ENSV), the National Institute of Training for staff of the department of Agriculture (INFOMA), the network of engineers for development (RID) and the general directorate for food of the Department of Agriculture (DGAL). This toolbox was edited and distributed by France Veterinary International (FVI).

Modules for standardization of education in epidemiology of animal diseases

• RANEMA (available in English and French)
  

Ranema is a computer-based training tool that can be used for distance learning through Cirad’s e-learning platform . It was created through a partnership between the Veterinary School of Alfort , the research unit Animal and integrated risk management (UPR AGIRs) and our team, with a funding from the department of foreign affairs. RANEMA’s contents are structured around a simple scenario: the trainee acts as a veterinary working for the veterinary services of a virtual country named Ranema. In order to comply with his professional duties, he must review his knowledge about epidemiology through various activities and exercises.

• RANEMA FLU

  

  It is a learning module derived from RANEMA, but dedicated to Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza. It was developed by the research unit Animal and integrated risk management (UPR AGIRs) and by FAO . Currently available in English, it is being translated and will be soon available on Cirad's e-learning platform .

• RANEMA STAT

  This third module is being validated. It is centred on specific needs in basic statistics applied to animal epidemiology. It was developed with the Department of foreign affairs and will be soon available in French and English
