In Réunion and Mayotte, CIRAD has a five-year financial agreement with the State and the local authorities. With a view to regional cooperation in the heart of the Indian Ocean, CIRAD is involved in the international research debate on food security, sustainable development and how to adapt agriculture to climate change.

A few details and key figures

In Réunion : a staff of 181, including 55 researchers, 20 PhD students and almost 100 other students per year. 14 000 m² of laboratories, greenhouses and offices on two main sites: Saint-Denis and Saint-Pierre (Plant Protection Platform). 35 hectares of field trials at four stations (Bassin Plat, La Mare, Ligne-Paradis, Colimaçons).

In Mayotte : a staff of 5, including 2 researchers.
