In Madagascar, CIRAD is working with the main institutions, universities and development players to manage biodiversity and develop upland rice cropping systems suited to the highlands. It is also tackling regional issues such as food safety, emerging animal diseases and territorial development in the Indian Ocean .

A few details

Around twenty researchers assigned to the main island of Madagascar. A commitment to training researchers: 30 theses supervised or co-supervised, 250 hours of teaching provided per year at the University of Antananarivo, 200 Madagascan and French students trained since 2003. Experimental and application trials.
