What is an RSS feed ?

An RSS feed is technological device used to automatically receive the latest news from a website, without actually having to connect to the site with a navigator.

How can an RSS feed be read?

There are different ways to access an RSS feed. It is possible to use the most recent navigators (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opéra, Safari...), certain messaging software (Thunderbird) or specialised tools known as RSS aggregators (RssReader, Feedreader, Akregator...). Alternatively, there are special websites used to read RSS feeds on-line (IGoogle, MyMsn, Netvibes, Newsgator, Wikio, MonYahoo...).

Whichever method used, updates contained in an RSS feed are displayed as a list classified in chronological order.
