Joint Research Unit (UMR) - UMR CEFE

Biodiversity, ecological change on a global level, and sustainable development, in particular of Mediterranean and tropical ecosystems, are the central research topics for UMR CEFE. The aim is to establish scenarios for the evolution of ecological systems and strategies for their conservation, restoration or rehabilitation.

UMR CEFE is split into three scientific departments, and has various technical platforms. Its research covers four main topics: human activity, manmade systems and conservation ecology; the adaptative value of life history traits in the presence of constraints; the role of biodiversity in ecosystem functioning; and global change and ecosystem functioning.
