PESMIX Project. Payments for environmental services: new panacea or auxiliary for environmental management?

Payments for Environmental Services (PES) is an instrument which use is increasingly frequent for biodiversity conservation and ecosystem ecological integrity improvement. Yet it is also a tool for poverty alleviation. Are we dealing with a new panacea or with an old wine in a new bottle? Are PES really effective for environment management purposes? With the objective of measuring the scope of the impact that PES can have into environmental and agricultural policies, Pesmix analyses the synergies and conflicts between PES and the above policies. The project has been launched in 2012 for a length of 3 years.

Elle est spécialisée dans le domaine du génie des procédés alimentaires et met son expertise pluridisciplinaire à la disposition des chercheurs, des organismes de formation et des industriels.

Les Cahiers de la recherche-développement ont été publiés de 1983 (Département des systèmes agraires) à 1999 (Cirad). Les thèmes traités ont suivi l’évolution des recherches systémiques et des travaux sur le développement : méthodologie d’étude des systèmes, sociologie, financement, géographie. Le site web permet de retrouver le texte intégral de tous les numéros de cette revue.

Intens&Fix Project: Intensification écologique des écosystèmes de plantations forestières

Funded by ANR and planned for 4 years (2011-2014), the Intens&Fix project will deal with the ecological intensification of FP through the association of N2-fixing species (NFS) with the goal to increase stand production as, in particular, a result of better N and P availability in the soil.
