More than 40 organizations collaborated on the Global Commercial Pressures on Land Research Project, which synthesised 27 case studies, thematic studies and regional overviews. This large study, led by the International Land Coalition, CIRAD and the International Institute for Environment and Development, is the most comprehensive study of large land acquisitions in developing countries to date.

RuralStruc

Losch B., Fréguin Gresh S., E. White, 2011. World Bank, Washington, DC.

Results from surveys conducted by RuralStruc, a vast research programme implemented by the World Bank since 2006, co-funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and French aid, with substantial support from CIRAD researchers.

Price volatility and food security.

CFS/HLPE report coordinated by B. Daviron, July 2011.

What are the causes of the food price rises seen since 2007? What problems have they raised for food security? What are the solutions at national and international levels? This report was written by four scientists from Bangladesh, Canada, Mali and France, at the request of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS) and the High Level Panel of Experts (HLPE).

DuALIne : Durabilité de l’alimentation face à de nouveaux enjeux. Questions à la recherche. Catherine Esnouf, Nicolas Bricas, Marie Russel (Eds.), 2011. INRA - CIRAD document, 254 p.

This 18-month study involved public- and private-sector players and researchers in taking stock of the available knowledge on key food issues, with respect to its impacts on the environment, health, the economy and society, against a backdrop of global change.

Agrimonde. Scenarios and challenges for feeding the world in 2050. Sandrine Paillard, Sébastien Treyer, Bruno Dorin, 2011. CIRAD-INRA document.
The 21st century has brought a triple challenge for agriculture and food: food security, environmental conservation, and an increasing shortage of fossil fuels. With this in mind, INRA and CIRAD launched a foresight platform in 2006, on the issues relating to global food and farming systems in the years leading up to 2050. The study was published in 2010 by Editions Quae.
