CIRAD proposes 18 thesis topics under the "Doctorants du Sud" support programme for PhD students from the South, run by the Agence inter-établissements de recherche pour le développement (AIRD).
Closing date for applications: 18 July 2011.
"Doctorants du Sud" is a new programme to support the building and strengthening of research capacity in developing countries. It is run by the Agence inter-établissements de recherche pour le développement (AIRD) on behalf of CIRAD.
Its target audience is students from developing countries in the an intertropical region or the Mediterranean who already have a Masters (or equivalent), who are preparing for a PhD within a partnership between a CIRAD research unit and a partner or partners in the South.
15 PhD students from the South will be funded as of 1 November 2011 for a maximum of three years , to work on one of the topics defined by CIRAD. To this end, 18 thesis topics are on offer.
