The book contains descriptions of the most common species found in the forests of French Guiana, along with the technical specificities of the woods sold. The different species used are covered in relation to current standards. Their characteristics are described in such a way as to facilitate choices, with a view to improving and optimizing the durability of wooden buildings. There is a technical advice note for each component, describing its function, position, intensity of exposure to biological risks and expected mechanical stress and proposing common species that could be used. In all, 66 construction components are presented.
