L'agriculture sénégalaise à l'épreuve du marché

24/03/2010 - Article

An overview of the supply chains in the rural economy of Senegal, which enables a clearer understanding of the realities of a diversified agriculture, the source of so much "rural wealth".

Through 18 case studies, this book reflects the impressive diversity of the rural economy in Senegal: it presents an overview of the cereal, horticultural, and oil and protein crop supply chains, and also the animal production, forestry and halieutic sectors. Based on a range of monographs, this picture enables a clearer understanding of the realities of a diversified agriculture, the source of so much "rural wealth". It thus gives a broad view of current changes in the rural areas of Senegal, following some twenty years of liberalization policies.

It was intended as a discussion support and decision support tool, and will be of use to professional leaders, technical authority and project staff, students, researchers, and anyone for whom agriculture is a crucial issue for the future of developing countries.
