A practical guide to mango, notably including knowledge acquired over the past three years through a project on the mango supply chain in Réunion.
The main aim of the guide is to steer mango producers towards new production sequences that respect the environment and satisfy demand from consumers and society. Whether readers are novice or experienced mango growers, the guide will provide them with elements enabling them to understand the technical and economic characteristics of the different production stages better, from setting up orchards to selling their fruit.
The guide is more than just a detailed technical advice note, and sets out to provide data and food for thought on mango, its cultivation and the supply chain. In few pages, it presents the recent changes in fruit production standards, the mango supply chain, from a local to an international level, mango tree functioning, the problems linked to mango growing, and postharvest fruit quality preservation techniques.
