15/10/2009 - Article
How can biodiversity conservation and agricultural development be reconciled? CIRAD has chosen to reply to this question at the "Planète, mode d'emploi" salon, from 24-27 September 2009, Porte de Versailles, in Paris. Two examples of research, in particular, will be used to illustrate the theme.
CIRAD is taking part in the first "Planète, mode d'emploi" salon, which will take place from the 24-27 September 2009, Porte de Versailles, in Paris.
The aim of the salon is to explain to the general public the issues involved in sustainable development and the actions that can “improve the way we live together”.
CIRAD will present two examples of research – the Amazonian forest and the W. Regional Park in West Africa – which show how biodiversity conservation can be reconciled with agricultural development.
