Cotton product analyses

The Cirad Cotton Technology Laboratory analyses cotton fibre, yarn and seed properties.

It works to develop efficient characterization methods so as to improve cotton product quality and promotion. It is a global reference laboratory for the establishment of international standard cottons.

Features

  • Fibre physical property measurements on conventional instruments and an integrated measurement line.
  • Stickiness measurements using thermodetectors (SCT and H2SD).
  • Seed coat fragments measurements using Trashcam.
  • Rotor microspinning and ring microspinning.
  • Yarn strength and regularity measurement.
  • Chemical analyses of seed constituents.
